What is HCA?
HCA is an independent credit verification company working in the hotel industry since 1993. Our service is designed to provide hotels with efficient, reliable and time sensitive reports at a minimal cost. HCA gives hotels the flexibility to pursue other time pressing tasks while we do the manual work. HCA acts as a common facilitator between HCA member hotels and other hotels throughout the world. While credit bureau reports provide important corporate information, it is the hotel reference that provides detailed information that is significant to the hotel industry.
How can Hotel Credit Association benefit my hotel?
HCA provides detailed credit history on 3 or more credit references supplied by your hotel. HCA also provides additional credit references from our database (when available ) to your hotel in a timely manner at no extra charge.
What type of credit information will I receive on a Credit Profile?
HCA strives to obtain detailed credit history when contacting hotel or vendor credit references. Some of the main topics we address are dollar amounts, payment records, advance deposits, function dates, adjustments, disputes, repeat activity, account opening dates, and specific billing comments.
How can Hotel Credit Association compile detailed credit history faster than a hotel's accounting department?
HCA verifies over 4,000 credit applications a month for more than 2000 hotels worldwide. We keep a large database and many credit references are already in our system. With a network of more than 1000 member hotels and a hotel database containing over 20,000 hotels, contacting new credit references is quick and hassle free.
What is the turnaround time for a Credit Profile?
The average turnaround for a Credit Profile is 1 - 5 business days. HCA saves all credit information we obtain from other hotels in our system. Many credit references are already on file because they were recently contacted for another member hotel. This sizeable database allows us to return many Credit Profiles within 24 hours.
What are the fees involved?
Hotel Credit Association charges $20.00 for a domestic Credit Profile containing U. S. and Canadian credit references. Hotel Credit Association charges $30.00 for an international Credit Profile (1 or more credit references provided to HCA by your hotel which are outside the U. S. and/or Canada). This is a flat fee per credit application, not an introductory fee. When compared to a hotel's exhausted man-hours, the payroll involved and other credit reporting agencies' charges, this is a considerable savings to the hotel.
Are there any monthly, annual or sign-up fees?
Can I cancel the service at any time for any reason?
Do I need to fill out any additional paperwork or retype any information?
No. We work directly off the credit applications already submitted to your hotel. Simply forward us the applications by email or fax using an HCA member cover sheet form we provide to your hotel.
What if I do not have any credit references or I do not have time to wait for the normal turnaround?
Simply call our offices and ask for a database check or log in to the Members Only section of the website. For no additional charge, we will search our database for recent credit history on a particular group. If information is available, we can return a database Credit Profile to your hotel within the hour.
What if I want to know the status of a particular credit application?
At any time you may call our offices or log in to the Members Only section of the website and check on the status. We can send a working copy to you showing the information we have compiled. When the Credit Profile is finished, we will send you a finished copy.
Where does HCA obtain data?
HCA performs credit verifications based on credit references supplied from credit applications. HCA has an extensive hotel information database to provide additional credit references. Unlike most business reports, HCA specializes on the hotel industry. We receive information from hotels around the world via our website, email, fax and phone. We also receive information from our hotel members who wish to inform their colleagues about specific positive and/or negative accounts.
How does HCA ensure the accuracy of the data?
HCA is more than a data collector. HCA demands a high standard of data quality. We conduct several manual validation checks and reviews regarding data consistency. We also have crosscheck processes that identify potential duplicate businesses and credit references.
How recent is the data?
All data supplied to HCA by your hotel will have been checked within the past 12 months unless a specific function date is referenced (information regarding a specific date will never change regardless of when the credit check was performed). Each additional credit reference from HCA's database will indicate specific reference dates of when the hotel or trade was contacted.
